THE PREDICTION
This is a great opportunity for both world number 32 Botic van de Zandschulp and number 54 Emil Ruusuvuori to reach the quarter-finals of a Masters tournament for the first time. 27-year-old Van de Zandchulp has already broken new ground at this level after stunning an out-of-sorts Casper Ruud in three sets on Sunday, coming back from a set down under the lights in Miami, but Ruusuvuori is through to this stage for a second time in Miami after he first announced himself here two years ago with a shock result over Alexander Zverev. 23-year-old Ruusuvuori backed-up an excellent result over Roberto Bautista Agut with an assured victory over in-form Taro Daniel on Sunday to look the slightly steadier of the two players here but this is one of the tighter calls of the round. The pair played each other twice last season, on grass at ‘s-Hertogenbosch and Wimbledon, and both matches saw sets go both ways in a win apiece. That makes the three set option a tempting one here but otherwise back Ruusuvuori to earn at least one of them here with a clear penchant for the tournament.
