THE PREDICTION

This is one of the tougher calls on Thursday between in-form world number 47 Benjamin Bonzi and 29th seed Jenson Brooksby, both of whom came through kind opening draws in straight sets. 26-year-old Bonzi beat Zdenek Kolar on Tuesday to back-up a brilliant run to the semi-finals of the Mallorca Open last week, where eventual champion Stefanos Tsitsipas beat him for the second week-running to remain the only player to defeat the Frenchman on grass this season. That kind of form. Including a three-set loss to Tsitsipas the week before in Halle, suggests Bonzi has the edge here against the relative inexperience of world number 34 Brooksby but the 21-year-old is a big-game player well capable of turning it on here. Brooksby produced a stunning run to the round of 16 at the US Open last September, taking a set from Novak Djokovic before defeat, and he is difficult to stop with some momentum behind him. Back both players to win at least a set here or risk a one-off on this match to see five sets instead of picking a winner.
