BEN SHELTON VS GIOVANNI MPETSHI PERRICARD PREDICTION
Ben Shelton is coming off another fantastic win as he beat Arthur Fils 6-3 7-6 in the semi-finals on Saturday. That followed a superb win over Andrey Rublev and Shelton has been playing better as the tournament goes on. While he was not always the better player against Rublev, he had longer spells of dominance against Fils and did not concede a single break point. He won 88% on his first serve and 88% on his second such was his dominance in his service games.
He meets Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard who is enjoying a fabulous week of his own in Basel and he beat Holger Rune in the semis. The 203cm Frenchman blasted 17 aces and also did not concede a single break point which is impressive against a player like Rune.
The reality is that these two are at such a high level on their serving right now, it seems highly unlikely that either will be broken. This has tiebreaks written all over it and that is our favoured play here. Back over 25.5 games with confidence and while we marginally favour Shelton due to his fractionally better return game, game betting is the way to go here.
