ARYNA SABALENKA VS LIUDMILA SAMSONOVA PREDICTION

Three-time Cincinnati Open semi-finalist Aryna Sabalenka is just one game away from repeating that feat with the Belarusian defeating Elina Svitolina in straight sets in Friday’s round of 16 encounter. The two-time reigning Australian Open champion also reached the quarter-finals of last week’s Canadian Open and clearly plays her best tennis on hard courts.

Standing in Sabalenka’s way is Liudmila Samsonova – another player who reached the quarters in Canada last week. The Russian dropped the first set against Elina Avanesyan in the round of 16 but turned the tables emphatically by dropping just three games in the next two sets.

If Samsonova can replicate her level from the final two sets against Avanesyan then she will give herself a chance of progressing here. However, Sabalenka has a greater level of consistency in her game and that could be the difference in the outcome of this match.
