ARYNA SABALENKA VS KAROLINA MUCHOVA PREDICTION
Aryna Sabalenka has been on a similar run of form to that of Jannik Sinner in the men’s game as she has been on fire winning the Cincinnati Open followed by the US Open. She is looking in ominous form in Beijing once again and remains the favourite to win the title.
After cantering to victory in her opening two matches, she dispatched Madison Keys in comfortable fashion also in the round of 16 6-4 6-3.
She now meets Karolina Muchova and it is the Czech player that is leading the head-to-head by two wins to one. Muchova has won the last two encounters which took place in 2023 but this is likely to be a little different given the way Sabalenka is playing.
Muchova has been a little fortunate with her route to the quarter-finals as Samsonova, Mertens and Krejcikova were all seed and in her section, but were all eliminated by other players. Muchova has done what she has had to do however and she has done it in style. Not only has she won them in straight sets but she has lost a combined total of just 12 games in her four matches overall.
This will be a totally different scenario however against the powerhouse Sabalenka and it is hard to see Muchova being able to match her here. Muchova’s form is strong going back for some time and she will certainly push Sabalenka all the way but we struggle to oppose the dominant Belarussian at the moment.
