THE PREDICTION

Team Europe take an 8-4 lead into the final day of the Laver Cup, which is closer than it has been in several recent editions of the tournament that Europe have so far dominated. A doubles pairing of Andy Murray and Matteo Berrettini looks a potent mixture after the Italian and Novak Djokovic dismissed Jack Sock and Alex de Minaur in fairly comfortable fashion on Saturday but Felix Auger-Aliassime, like Murray, also has recent doubles experience from last week’s Davis Cup group Stages. 26-year-old Berrettini looked in excellent shape on Saturday when beating Auger-Aliassime via tight opening tiebreak and then the decider and his hammer-arm should complement Murray’s world-class defending masterfully here. Auger-Aliassime and Sock should make for a spirited team of their own but there look to be too many weapons on Team Europe’s side of the court. Back Murray and Berrettini to win here.
