World number eight Andrey Rublev is coming in hot to the Madrid Open after a career-best victory over Novak Djokovic on Sunday to win the Serbia Open final in three sets. The 24-year-old already has three ATP titles this season after success at the Open 13 and Dubai Tennis Championships, taking him up to 11 in total, and the next step in his illustrious career should be targeting a first Masters title. Rublev finished runner-up to Stefanos Tsitsipas at the Monte-Carlo Open and to Alexander Zverev at the Cincinnati Open last season.

20-year-old Jack Draper played well to beat Lorenzo Sonego on Monday for a first ever Masters 1000 win on his Madrid Open debut. The Brit will set a new career-high ATP world ranking of at least 106th after the feat in a season that has seen him rocket up the rankings thanks to four titles won on the Challenger circuit.
THE PREDICTION
This should be a fascinating match between in-form Andrey Rublev and Jack Draper. The Russian is riding a four-match winning streak from the highest ranking win of his career against world number one Novak Djokovic on Sunday but it is always tricky to redistribute that intensity to a new tournament after so much spent emotion. 20-year-old Draper played well against Lorenzo Sonego on Monday but the Italian has been out of sorts for some time and this will be the toughest match he has faced since taking on Djokovic at Wimbledon last season.
