ALEXANDER ZVEREV VS ZHIZHEN ZHANG PREDICTION
Alexander Zverev fought from a set down to see off Hugo Gaston in the round of 16, and while he showed plenty of fighting qualities, he will be concerned by the fact he won just 38% of points behind his second serve. The number one seed, who is aiming to defend the title he won in his native Hamburg last year, now takes on Chinese number one Zhizhen Zhang.
Zhang is currently at his highest ever world ranking of 32 in Singles, while he has also impressed on the Doubles circuit this year having won the Open 13 in France and reached the semi-finals at the Australian Open and the quarter-finals at the French.
This is a battle between two excellent servers, although the Hamburg clay will nullify that advantage somewhat. This is Zverev’s first tournament on the surface since his agonising French Open final defeat to Carlos Alcaraz last month, and he would dearly love to defend this title and bring some positivity back to his game.
Zverev should have too much for his Chinese opponent here, but it is unlikely to be one-sided so play it cautiously in the betting markets.
