ALEXANDER ZVEREV VS DAVID GOFFIN PREDICTION
World number four Alexander Zverev played the game and the occasion masterfully on Monday, beating an impressive but ultimately underpowered Rafael Nadal in straight sets.
The 27-year-old is riding a seven-match winning streak on clay after victory at the Italian Open earlier this month and he brings by far the best form of the current top four into Paris, where he has reached the semi-finals in each of the past three seasons.
Former number seven David Goffin overcame a valiant effort by young French hopeful Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in five sets on Monday but he began a fight a he cannot finish with the Roland-Garros crowd, who will likely support Zverev after the Belgian criticized their behaviour.
33-year-old Goffin has enjoyed plenty of tight matches with Zverev over the years but he is far from the player who last beat him in straight sets at the Monte-Carlo Open in 2021. Zverev leads their head-to-head 3-2, 3-1 on clay, and despite not yet doing so in any of his previous wins over Goffin he can be backed to beat the Belgian in straight sets here.
ALEXANDER ZVEREV VS DAVID GOFFIN TIP: ALEXANDER ZVEREV TO WIN 3-0
