THE PREDICTION

World number 18 Alex de Minaur enjoyed a strong week at the Los Cabos Open but he lost to Stefanos Tsitsipas for the 10th time out of 10 to concede the final. Despite enjoying the best season of his career so far the Aussie still has a rather obvious ceiling against the very top of the sport, although he has beaten world number six Holger Rune and a admittedly injured Rafael Nadal this year. World number 13 Cam Norrie claimed his maiden ATP title at Los Cabos in 2021 but he suffered an early exit to Aleksandar Kovacevic to continue a concerning trend. The 27-year-old was upset in the second round of Wimbledon by Christopher Eubanks and he has failed to win more than two matches on the bounce since a run to the quarter-finals of Indian Wells in March.

Norrie and De Minaur know each other well as occasional doubles partners and they share an intriguing 1-1 head-to-head record after the Brit levelled things in straight sets at the United Cup in January. Norrie has earned at least a set in both of their previous matches so back him to do here to avoid the result, particularly as De Minaur may take some time to recover after playing late in Mexico.
