THE PREDICTION
At the time of writing Jannik Sinner is the deserved world number 23 in the ATP world rankings and making moves towards breaking the top 20 after reaching his first Masters final on debut at the Miami Open last Sunday. The 19-year-old Italian has two ATP titles to his name already, both on hard courts, and it will be very interesting this week to see his performance on clay. 33-year-old Albert Ramos-Vinolas reached the semi-finals of the Andalucia Open before losing to eventual winner Pablo Carreno Busta on Saturday and the Spaniard played valiantly throughout but there should be a quite obvious gulf in quality in this first meeting between the two players. Sinner should be targeting deep runs at tournaments for the rest of his career now and he looks a good candidate to sneak into the ATP Finals qualification by the end of the season, such is his excellence. Take the Italian to win this in straight sets.
