THE PREDICTION

After watching her friend Ash Barty lift the Wimbledon title last weekend, 26-yer-old Storm Sanders seems inspired at the Prague Open having reached her second WTA quarter-final this season. The Aussie world number 141 beat the fourth seed Marie Bouzkova in the first round here before making it back-to-back three-set victories with a round of 16 win over Nuria Parrizaz-Diaz. This first meeting with ninth seed Greet Minnen is an excellent opportunity for both players to reach a rare semi-final on tour but Sanders in this form will be the Belgian’s toughest foe here after a relatively winnable draw so far. 23-year-old Minnen is the slight favourite on ranking in Prague but that has meant very little on the WTA tour for some time and Sanders has taken out the tougher players so far. Take the Aussie to win at least a set in this match that could go either way.
