The 33-year-old is definitely in a strange place with his tennis right now and struggling to reach his peak, though it could be argued he won the Australian Open earlier this year at 90% of his powers. He faces 21-year-old Alejandro Davidovich Fokina for the first time with the Spaniard finding some consistent good form on clay and the world number 48 will be up for this in a big way. Davidovich Fokina beat Cam Norrie in comfortable fashion on Wednesday morning so fatigue should not be a factor but he has struggled to beat the top players this year and could find this a test too high right now. Djokovic is more vulnerable right now than he wants the world to believe and Davidovich Fokina is good enough to warrant picking the world number one to win outright here only.
