THE PREDICTION
This is a quick rematch for world number 49 Kei Nishikori and number 25 Karen Khachanov after they shared a three-set match at the Madrid Open last month that went the way of the Japanese star. 31-year-old Nishikori was sloppy in places against an inspired Alessandro Giannessi on Sunday but just managed to scrape through in five sets and he will need to improve given Khachanov looked superb in a straight-sets defeat of Jiri Vesely. This looks a really tough result to side with either way and if over three sets is an option available, take that for what could be real slog. Recent form suggests that Nishikori can end up the winner of this one but Khachanov came close in their last match and the Russian almost certainly has one or two sets coming his way in this battle. Over three sets or Khachanov to win at least a set here look like solid, if fairly safe options here.
