THE PREDICTION
25-year-old Katerina Siniakova backed up an excellent win over the Emilia-Romagna first seed Serena Williams by claiming a third successive straight-sets win in the quarter-finals over Caroline Garcia. The Czech will face a player in much better form now, though, in 17-year-old Coco Gauff as the world number 30 overpowered Amanda Anisimova on Thursday to also reach this stage without dropping a set. Gauff made the semi-finals of the Italian Open last week via some excellent performances and it took the eventual champion Iga Swiatek to oust her. Siniakova lost in straight-sets the first time the two met in Ostrava last October and it looks unlikely that she can avenge that loss here. Take Gauff to win this match outright and reach a deserved final in Parma.
