THE PREDICTION
Citi Open seventh seed Cam Norrie has a great chance at yet another meeting with Rafael Nadal if both players can win their round of 16 ties here in Washington. The 25-year-old recently won his first ATP title after such hard work over the last 18 months paid off and he has the potential for more this season and beyond as a tricky lefty that no one wants to play. World number 57 Kei Nishikori beat Norrie in their only previous encounter at Wimbledon back in 2019 but the two have moved in totally opposite directions since then in terms of form. 31-year-old Nishikori enjoyed a strong Olympic Games in Tokyo but came up against a belligerent force in Novak Djokovic to end Japanese hopes at a medal. He beat Alexander Bublik in the second round to settle some nerves but this looks a tough challenge for the former world number four at this stage. Take Norrie to win outright here.
