THE PREDICTION
23-year-old Alex Molcan is set for a big rise up the ATP world rankings next Monday no matter what happens in this semi-final and the current world number 255 will be a dangerous first opponent at Roland-Garros in this form. The Slovak conceded just two games to Fernando Verdasco on Thursday and conceded none in the round before to reach this stage of the Belgrade Open with the fewest games conceded of anyone, even Novak Djokovic. That comes as even more of an impressive stat given that eighth seed Federico Delbonis received a walkover to this stage after Roberto Carballes Baena pulled out of the tournament, although the Argentine remains the favourite to come through this first meeting. Molcan has no fear here and could well earn a set, in fact taking that option as a separate punt could be useful, but world number 52 Delbonis has been in some of the best form of his career this clay swing and he should end up the winner in this clash.
