THE PREDICTION
World number 79 Radu Albot is looking to claw his way back up the rankings after reaching as high as 39 in August last year and put in one of his better performances of 2020 with a routine straight-sets win over Jordan Thompson in the first round. It was a contrasting win for Taylor Fritz meanwhile, with the American taken to five sets by Tomas Machac and, while Fritz will have expended plenty of energy in that encounter, you would think he is young enough and fit enough to recover for this second-round match. It’s fair to say that neither player are particularly fond of clay but Fritz has enjoyed much the better 2020 overall and may have the slight edge here. However, the longer the match goes on, the longer that would favour the fresher Albot so with this match being very difficult to call, we’re advising to stay away from this one in the betting markets.
