Taylor Fritz vs Lorenzo Sonego Prediction

So far in 2025, Taylor Fritz has been unable to replicate the form that took him to world number four in the back end of 2024, and although he still holds on to that ranking, he won’t for much longer unless his results start to improve.

To be fair to the American, it took eventual champion Jack Draper to eliminate him in the round of 16 at Indian Wells last week, and he now faces an opponent he has defeated in four of their six career meetings.

Lorenzo Sonego has had an up-and-down year so far but the highlight was undoubtedly his somewhat surprising run to the quarter-finals of the Australian Open in January, although it can be argued that he had a somewhat fortunate path to the last eight given that he didn’t face a seed until his loss to Ben Shelton.

The Italian lost to veteran David Goffin in the first round at Indian Wells, but overcame Mariona Navone 7-5, 7-5 in his Miami opener.

With Fritz having won all three meetings on hard courts, it is hard to look past the American on home soil here, with a straight-sets victory in the offing.
