Taylor Fritz comes into the Australian Open in good form as he and Coco Gauff combined to help USA win the United Cup last week in Sydney. After losing his opening match to Felix Auger-Aliassime, he rolled off four wins in a row to play his part in the team and get the win.

He will now come into the Australian Open with some good form behind him and having achieved some of his best performances in the Grand Slams in 2024. He reached the final of the US Open and got to the quarters in both Australia and Wimbledon. His challenge now is to better those and that will not be easy.

He has an interesting opening match as he meets compatriot Jenson Brooksby for the second time. They met when Brooksby was a 20-year-old back in 2021 in the US Open and Brooksby stunned Fritz by winning in four sets.

That loss may actually help Fritz here and will certainly serve as a warning to him about the potential pitfall coming into this match. Fritz has come on massively since then and he is in good form, and we expect him to get the win.
