Taylor Fritz contrived to lose against Felix Auger-Aliassime in the tie between USA and Canada in three sets and that came after finding himself in a dominant position. He was leading 6-4 4-2 and 30-15 up, and then he served for the match at 5-4 but he wasted the golden opportunities and managed to lose to take the tie to the mixed doubles.

He will be keen to tune up his game and not make the same mistakes here against Borna Coric. The Croatian won his match against Felix Auger-Aliassime 0-6 6-4 6-4 in an equally bizarre match but his team slipped to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Canada.

They need to win here and preferably by winning both singles matches. That will be easier said than done however and one would fully expect Fritz to get the win here.

That being said, the head-to-head makes grim reading for Fritz. Coric has won all four previous meetings albeit with the last one taking place in 2020. Fritz is a completely different and much-improved player now and we expect him to grab the win here.
