He overcame Yunchaokete Bu in the round of 16 on Thursday 7-6 6-2 and now he faces a sterner test in Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.

The eighth seed beat Mackenzie McDonald in a three-setter in the round of 16 and he actually leads the head-to-head 2-1 against Fritz. Those two wins came on clay however and Fritz won the match on hard court and the most recent one.

We have to favour Fritz to have enough with his all-round game and his excellent serve. That should just about make the difference and it was firing nicely in the last match as he blasted 18 aces. Expect Fritz to go one step closer to the three-peat.
