Lucky loser Ella Seidel is dreaming of a showdown with Coco Gauff after replacing Danielle Collins to feature in the Stuttgart main draw for the very first time.

The 20-year-old lost to Dayana Yastremska in the final round of qualifying but gets the reprieve after the American world number 32 withdrew.

It pits the world number 124 against her compatriot, the veteran Tatjana Maria.

The 37-year-old has struggled to make much impact at the highest level this year, but did reach the quarter-finals on the dirt in Bogota in late March. 

There’s no previous meeting to gauge how their styles match-up against each other, so this generational tussle could come down to how well the youngster handles the occasion. The odds seem to generously favour Seidel so the value lies with Maria.
