Tallon Griekspoor vs Stefanos Tsitsipas Prediction
Tallon Griekspoor showed unbelievable heart and determination on Thursday in his quarter-final with Daniil Medvedev to ultimately out-battle the top seed and graft his way to the semi-finals.
For the first half of that match, Medvedev looked in complete control but Griekspoor stuck to his task, battled away in the clutch moments defending plenty of break points and ground out a remarkable win.
That was his third successive third-set match in three days and it will be interesting to see what he has left in the tank after that one especially. It was quite the draining encounter from both a physical and emotional perspective.
Stefanos Tsitsipas had his own battle against Matteo Berrettini in which he had to dig deep to win the deciding set. The Greek star looks to be regaining that inner confidence that he had in his younger days and he is playing some outstanding tennis right now.
Tsitsipas can take confidence from the fact he has already beaten Griekspoor one this year and that came in Rotterdam a few weeks ago. That was a monumental 6-7 7-6 7-5 tussle but it is hard to see that happening again here. Both players, but especially Griekspoor have gone through so much in the last few days, it is difficult to see him being able to go deep once again.
We like Tsitsipas here to get the win. He is in good form, should be the fresher of the two players, and has had the edge over Griekspoor winning both previous meetings.
