Tallon Griekspoor vs Mattia Bellucci prediction

Tallon Griekspoor heads into his 20th ATP Tour quarter-final after kicking off his clay campaign with a hard-fought win over Pablo Carreno Busta.

The top seed’s hefty forehand and powerhouse serve did plenty of damage as he landed 13 aces and 46 winners on his way to a 7-6 3-6 6-3 victory.

Griekspoor transitioned his excellent level on hardcourts, including a win over world number two Alexander Zverev on his way to a quarter-final run at Indian Wells, to overcome the second set blip and suggest he could be ready for another push to the business end of the tournament.

The 28-year-old Dutchman comes up against eighth seed Mattia Bellucci in the last eight after the Italian claimed back-to-back wins for the first time since early February with a 6-2 7-5 success over qualifier Pierre Hugues Herbert.

Bellucci was efficient on rare forays to the net (6/9) and broke the Frenchman’s serve four times as he reached the last eight without dropping a set.

This will be their first meeting on Tour and it could be well a high-quality tussle, but we are backing Griekspoor’s power to prove decisive.
