Tallon Griekspoor vs Learner Tien prediction

Tallon Griekspoor made it all the way to the final in Morocco on the clay just a week ago but lost to Luciano Darderi despite being the number one seed. At Monte-Carlo, he had a pretty tough draw, facing Arthur Fils in the first round. Despite not breaking the Fils serve, he did take the first-set tiebreak but the Frenchman came back to win 6-7 6-4 6-2.

He takes on qualifier Learner Tien in the first-round in Munich. Tien competed in the Houston Open before the qualifying here but lost to fellow American youngster Alex Michelson in straight sets. He’s still shown flashes of his precocious talent since the incredible run to the fourth round of the Australian Open, with a quarter-final appearance at the Mexican Open, which included a win over world number two Alexander Zverev, his best finish this season.

However, that was back in late February and Tien isn’t performing at quite the same level now, while he’s also a bit of an unknown on clay. We think Griekspoor is good value to win in straight sets.
