Stuttgart Team News: Chabot and Karazor return

Following the conclusion of their respective suspensions, expect centra-back Jeff Chabot and captain Atakan Karazor to take their places back in the Stuttgart starting XI. Illness could rule out Woltemade and the likes of Al-Dakhil, Toure and Zagadou won’t feature.

Predicted XI (4-4-2): Nubel; Vagnoman, Rouault, Chabot, Mittelstadt; Bruun Larsen, Karazor, Fuhrich; Undav, Demirovic

Unavailable: Al-Dakhil (Injured), Diehl (Injured), Raimund (Injured), Toure (Injured), Zagadou (Injured)

Questionable: Woltemade (Illness)

Augsburg Team News: Change at the back

It would be no surprise to see Keven Schlotterbeck come into the starting line-up in defence, replacing Noahkai Banks following his own goal and yellow card against St. Pauli at the weekend. Koudossou could be missing again, whilst Kabadayi remains out injured.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Dahmen; Matsima, Gouweleeuw, Schlotterbeck; Wolf, Onyeka, Jakic, Rexhbecaj, Giannoulis; Claude-Maurice, Essende

Unavailable: Kabadayi (Injured), Oxford (Illness)

Questionable: Koudossou (Injured)

Stuttgart vs Augsburg Prediction

This game serves as a huge opportunity for both teams with Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund both knocked out and a place in the semi-finals at stake. For the hosts in particular, it’s a golden chance with this being one of the best Stuttgart sides we’ve seen in years under the command of Sebastian Hoeness. They currently sit fifth-place in the Bundesliga but following back-to-back defeats, being able to turn their attention to the cup may well work in their favour.

Augsburg travel to Stuttgart confident of their chances and who can blame them when looking at the form books. The visitors have picked up ten points from their last four league games with two of those being away wins. However, their most recent defeat did come at the hands of Stuttgart, courtesy of a single goal scored by Deniz Undav.

Expect this encounter to be just as tight with the stakes extremely high here. Stuttgart may need to be patient and must be careful of Augsburg’s counter-attacking threat. It would be no surprise if we saw a low-scoring contest and backing under 2.5 goals is a move worth making.

Stuttgart vs Augsburg Tip: Under 2.5 goals
