Strasbourg Preview: Silky but struggling Strasbourg
Former Hull City boss Liam Rosenior was tasked with evolving Strasbourg this season with supporters still extremely unhappy with the ownership of the club and the atmosphere in Alsace often overshadowing on-pitch performances, which began well, but they have slid down the table in the last couple of months.
The home team come into this one on the back of a very disappointing 3-1 defeat to Stade Brest at Stade Francis-Le Ble last weekend thanks to goals from Kenny Lala, Mathias Pereira Lage and Romain Del Castillo. That means the hosts have now suffered four successive defeats in Ligue 1 as they plummet down the table.
Reims Preview: Reims getting back on a run
Over the summer, Reims decided to part company with English-Belgian coach Will Still after they remained firmly ensconced in the middle-of-the-table despite an ambitious summer of spending in 2023 and they replaced him with the impressive Luka Elsner, who had done an excellent job in charge of Le Havre in recent seasons.
Reims now begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting tucked inside the top-half of the table but their form has declined in recent weeks and that continued last weekend as they suffered a 2-0 loss at home to the aforementioned Will Still and his Lens side. They have now managed just one win in their last six matches in Ligue 1.
Strasbourg Team News: No fresh injuries
There are no fresh injury concerns for Liam Rosenior to deal with so he can name an unchanged eleven but may well be tempted to rotate after their recent poor form.
They do still have plenty of issues with back-up goalkeeper Alaa Bellaarouch sidelined alongside loanee Caleb Wiley and the likes of Emmanuel Emegha and Moise Sahi in attack.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Petrovic; Doue, Sow, Sarr, Diego Moreira; Diarra, Santos; Bakwa, Lemarechal, Nanasi; Mara
Unavailable: Bellaarouch (Injured), Wiley (Injured), Delaine (Injured), Doukoure (Injured), Emegha (Injured), Sahi (Injured)

Reims Team News: Several concerns
Reims will be able to name an unchanged eleven for this weekend’s clash with Strasbourg but they do have a few key pre-existing injury issues for this one.
Kenya international defender Joseph Okumu is sidelined alongside the likes of Maxime Busi, Abdoul Kone and key former Ajax attacker Mohamed Daramy.
Predicted XI (4-3-3): Diouf; Buta, Kipre, Agbadou, Sergio Akieme; Munetsi, Atangana, Teuma; Ito, Diakite, Nakamura

Strasbourg vs Reims Prediction
Liam Rosenior’s Strasbourg are under pressure and need a victory in this one in Alsace. They have remained very entertaining to watch, though, with their 13 matches so far this season consisting of 49 goals. They now face a Reims side that have been very inconsistent of late since a bright start to the campaign and they may well intend to play their way out of it so both teams scoring could well be a good bet here.
