Strasbourg Preview: Silky Strasbourg

Strasbourg, with former Hull City coach Liam Rosenior at the helm, play what is an exciting and entertaining style of football that has produced 81 goals in their 28 games so far this season as they now move towards qualification for the UEFA Champions League.

It has been a magnificent second-half to the campaign for the Alsace-based side and that continued last weekend as they defeated Stade de Reims by a goal to nil at Stade Auguste-Delaune II courtesy of a fourth minute strike from Ismael Doukoure.

Nice Preview: Strong Nice

Franck Haise’s Nice are one of the sides, alongside the likes of Olympique Lyonnais and Lille, to have been the victims of Strasbourg’s rapid rise in recent months and they have now been knocked out of the top five, albeit sit just two points behind their upcoming opponents in fourth.

The southerners had been in extremely impressive form up until mid-way through last month but the visitors’ 2-1 defeat at home to Nantes at the Allianz Riviera last weekend now means they have collected just one point from their last four matches.

Strasbourg Team News: Diego Moreira suspended

Chelsea loanee Diego Moreira is missing through suspension for this weekend with the hosts dealing with a couple of injury issues, too, such as Alaa Bellaarouch and Moise Sahi, who are unavailable for this weekend.

Predicted XI (3-4-3): Petrovic; Doukoure, Sarr, Sylla; Bakwa, Santos, Barco, Diarra; Lemarcehal, Emegha, Nanasi

Unavailable: Bellaarouch (Injured), Moise Sahi (Injured), Diego Moreira (Suspended)

Questionable:

Nice Team News: Ndombele injured

The visitors have a couple of injury issues for this weekend’s visit to Strasbourg. Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele due to a groin issue with Sofiane Diop also a clear doubt.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Bulka; Moise Bombito, Ndayishimiye, Abdelmonem; Clauss, Boudaoui, Rosario, Abdi; Cho, Boga; Laborde

Unavailable: Ndombele (Injured)

Questionable: Diop (Injured)

Strasbourg vs Nice Prediction

Strasbourg have been magnificent in the last few months. They have suffered just one defeat in their last 15 matches in their most recent outing and they have now enjoyed five successive Ligue 1 victories ahead of this weekend, too. They now face a Nice side that, as mentioned, are trending in the opposite direction but they will fancy themselves of being able to get themselves a goal at an open and attacking Strasbourg side so both teams scoring should be a good bet for this one.
