Stephen Bunting vs Luke Woodhouse Prediction

World number eight Stephen Bunting looks up to the task this year with his 3-1 win over Madars Razma showing that his game is in excellent shape.

‘The Bullet’ averaged over 100 in Friday’s third-round encounter, with his heavy scoring proving too much for the Latvian to handle. That win saw the Masters champion reach the last 16 of the worlds for the third year in succession, and a fifth time in six years. He will now seek a fourth quarter-final at Alexandra Palace.

Luke Woodhouse has already eliminated two seeds on his way to the fourth round, accounting for World Grand Prix champion Mike De Decker before winning a thriller with Damon Heta in the deciding set of an engrossing third-round battle on Friday. The 36-year-old has had plenty of big-stage exposure this year, most notably reaching the semi-finals of the European Championship in October.

Double trouble can occasionally cost Bunting in big matches but the St. Helens star has been playing consistent high-quality darts this year, and he has always tended to favour set play. The former BDO world champion will be offered stiff resistance by a stubborn Woodhouse, but we’re backing The Bullet to come through.
