It’s approaching ‘now or never’ time for Stephen Bunting, who is yet to get off the mark in the Premier League this year despite the fact he boasts a better tournament average than a number of his competitors.

In fairness to ‘The Bullet’, he can count himself unlucky lately having run into some superb performances from the likes Michael van Gerwen, Luke Humphries, Luke Littler and most recently Nathan Aspinall. His run to the quarter-finals of the Belgian Darts Open over the weekend should certainly give him some confidence, as will his win over Gerwyn Price in Wednesday’s Players Championship event, where he reached the quarter-finals.

Heading into Night 6, Price is on the cusp of the play-off places but, since he went all the way in Dublin three weeks ago, he has suffered successive quarter-final exits in the Premier League. Like Bunting though, he reached the last eight in Belgium, notably recording a 112.42 average along the way.

Bunting’s defeat of Price just a day before this meeting will surely give him the belief he needs to get some points on the board here, and we're backing him to do just that.
