Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Lorenzo Sonego Prediction

It has been a mixed start to 2025 for fourth-seed Stefanos Tsitsipas but he will be hoping to get some momentum in Dubai this week.

He came up against an inspired Hamad Medjedovic in Doha last week and was eliminated in the first round but he will likely view this draw with Lorenzo Sonego as a favourable one.

The pair have met three times before on the ATP Tour and the Greek star has won all three dropping just one set in the process.

Sonego is arguably getting better with age and the Italian has enjoyed a good start to 2025. His run to the quarter-finals in the Australian Open has really boosted his confidence and he will be keen to follow up on that this Spring.

Tsitsipas comes in as the slight favourite here but it is really tough backing the inconsistent Greek these days. Sonego is playing really well at the moment and he will fancy his chances of getting his first win over Tsitsipas. Our preferred play is on game betting here and we like the chances of this one being a drawn-out battle and some long sets.
