Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Karen Khachanov Prediction

Fourth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas picked up a valuable win in the first round as he overcome Lorenzo Sonego 7-6 6-3. That was a potential banana skin as the Italian is well capable of springing the upset but Tsitsipas will take confidence from that victory.

He now faces Karen Khachanov who he has a sensational record against. The pair have met on nine previous occasions and Tsitsipas has one eight of the meetings. The Greek star has completely dominated and save for Khachanov beating him in Miami in 2023, Tsitsipas has had the edge over the Russian.

Khachanov had lost all five matches against Dan Evans but he snapped that losing streak in the first round. That will give him some belief that he can get past any psychological hurdles in this match too.

Khachanov has not really been firing so far in 2025 and it is hard to have too much confidence in him just yet. For that reason, and Tsitsipas’ dominance in their previous encounters, we favour the Greek fourth seed here.
