The prediction

The Brisbane Lions were handed a reality check after succumbing to the Collingwood Magpies in front of their home fans to the tune of a 50-point defeat. They were far from their best and get an opportunity to bounce back just a week later.

St Kilda’s three early season wins gave them optimism heading into their clash with the Western Bulldogs however they were embarrassed by 71 points and they now fall into the logjam of teams below mid-table. 

The Saints will once again look to Jack Higgins in the forward line. He is currently one behind league leading goal-kicker Josh Treacy (17) after kicking three in last week’s heavy loss. The Lions tend to share the spoils around with both Zac Bailey, Eric Hipwood and Logan Morris featuring heavily so far this year.

The Lions have won the past six contests, many of them in convincing fashion (average winning margin 30.1 points). The last time St Kilda were successful in Melbourne was 2018.

We think the Lions will have too much firepower for the Saints in this one.
