St. Helens Team News: Boost for Saints as Morgan Knowles returns
St Helens will be looking to make it four wins from four and they have some positive team news after Morgan Knowles returned to the fold after being in concussion protocol last weekend. He returns to the 21 at the expense of Ben Davies in what is the only change from the squad named that beat Wakefield last weekend.
Squad: Jack Welsby, Kyle Feldt, Mark Percival, Jon Bennison, Tristan Sailor, Jonny Lomax, Alex Walmsley, Daryl Clark, Matty Lees, Curtis Sironen, Joe Batchelor, Morgan Knowles, Moses Mbye, James Bell, Matt Whitley, Agnatius Paasi, Jake Wingfield, George Delaney, Noah Stephens, Jake Burns, Harry Robertson
Hull KR Team News: Mixed news for Willie Peters’ men
Hull KR boss Willie Peters has mixed news this week as he has lost Rhyse Martin to a long-term injury while Niall Evalds sits out having failed a head injury assessment. The loss of Martin is a major blow as they had high hopes for their big off-season signing but they do have options to replace him and Danny Richardson will be looking to take full advantage of this opportunity from a kicking perspective. They do however welcome back Man of Steel Mikey Lewis whose injury was not as serious as first thought and that will give them a major lift ahead of this crunch match.
Squad: Tom Davies, Peta Hiku, Oliver Gildart, Joe Burgess, Mikey Lewis, Tyrone May, Sauaso Sue, Jez Litten, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Dean Hadley, James Batchelor, Elliot Minchella, Micky McIlorum, Sam Luckley, Jai Whitbread, Jack Broadbent, Danny Richardson, Kelepi Tanginoa, Jack Brown, Lee Kershaw, Eribe Doro
St. Helens vs Hull KR Prediction
As they say in boxing, somebody’s ‘o’ has to go as two teams with a 100% win record meet at the Totally Wicked Stadium for what is the tie of round four of the Betfred Super League.
Both teams have made great starts and it is clear to see that both have a point to prove. St Helens have come out of the blocks firing on all cylinders and after their worst season in years, they are determined to bounce back this year.
Hull KR went so close last year and are just as desperate to show that it was not a one-off. The return of Mikey Lewis is understandably a major one.
This will be a really good test of both team’s credentials and a good measuring stick to see where they really are. Neither team has faced one of the better teams in the division so far so we should not read too much into their unbeaten runs.
That only adds to the intrigue here. Saints are favoured to win by eight points on the spread and we think that flatters them a little. Hull KR are a quality team and with Lewis back, we fancy them to keep it within that at least.
St. Helens vs Hull KR Tip: Hull KR +8.5 points
