St. George Illawarra Dragons Team News: Plenty of room for improvement for the Dragons
New Dragons coach Shane Flanagan will be looking to bounce back from their opening round loss against the Bulldogs and there are clearly areas for improvement. They have some mixed team news as Blake Lawrie is back from a hamstring problem but they have been dealt a significant blow as Ryan Couchman has torn his ACL and will miss the season. Those are the only changes from last week.
South Sydney Rabbitohs Team News: Two enforced changes for Bennett’s men
Fresh off their opening round win over the Dolphins, Wayne Bennett will be demanding a further improvement coming into this match with the Dragons. They have two enforced changes as Jack Wighton serves a suspension while Tyler Munro is ruled out for up to two months. Fletcher Myers and Bayleigh Bentley-Hape come into the 17 while the available Louis Dodd is in reserve after his ban.

There were contrasting results for these two teams in the opening round but both head coaches will be fully aware that both of their teams need to improve significantly.
The Dragons typically have a good record on home soil and it is no surprise that the bookmakers marginally favour them to win this match.
The Rabbitohs however can take plenty of confidence from their victory last week but they are not helped by two enforced changes which will slightly weaken them.
We can see the Dragons stepping up a level in front of their home crowd and we expect them to get the win here in what should be a close match throughout.
