Sri Lanka Betting Analysis

Sri Lanka have named a strong squad for this series as they continue their 50-over rebuild after having failed to qualify for the ICC Champions Trophy. On what is likely to be a turning surface in Colombo, bowler Maheesh Theekshana could prove an ace for the hosts against Australia, who will likely look to attack the right-arm off-spinner. This may in turn lead to wickets for Theekshana should the surface offer him assistance and backing the 24-year-old to finish this ODI as Sri Lanka’s top bowler is well worth considering.

Australia Betting Analysis

Australia will use these ODIs to firm up their preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy with a number of players out injured. One player who will feature at the top of the order is Travis Head and when taking into account his style of batting, expect fireworks within the powerplay as he looks to get the tourists off to a fast start. With that in mind, back Head’s notorious boundary hitting skills to come good here and for him to strike the most match 4s.

Sri Lanka vs Australia Expert Prediction

Australia proved to be far superior to Sri Lanka in the Test series and the expectation is that they will be the same in the ODIs. They boast substantial depth with the bat and enough variation with the ball to handle any sort of surface that faces them in Colombo. Sri Lanka are a team in transition and are likely to struggle against an opposition of such quality, so back Australia to come out on top.
