Southampton vs Newcastle Prediction

It seems strange to say given that they have picked up just six points in the Premier League this season and are seemingly destined for an immediate return to the Championship, but there are one or two positive that Ivan Juric can take from the last couple of games.

Only a late Amad Diallo hat-trick denied them at Old Trafford recently, while they showed good fight from 3-0 down against Nottingham Forest last weekend despite ultimately coming up short. Be that as it may, they are still shipping goals at an alarming rate, and reached 50 conceded goals in the Premier League against Forest.

One of the form teams in the country and riding a nine-game winning streak in all competitions, Newcastle were stunned in a 1-4 defeat to Justin Kluivert-inspired Bournemouth at St. James' Park last weekend.

Eddie Howe will hope that was just a temporary blip in their otherwise impeccable form, and this visit of bottom-side Southampton could be the perfect tonic for them to get back on track. Given the Saints' defensive shortcomings, the Magpies can be expected to find the net multiple times in victory.

Southampton vs Newcastle Tip: Newcastle to win & over 3.5 goals
