South Sydney Rabbitohs vs Penrith Panthers Prediction
South Sydney Rabitohs come into this round four clash with Penrith Panthers trying to overcome a miserable record against their opponents. They have lost seven of their last eight against the defending champions but they may feel they are meeting them at the best possible time here.
The Rabbitohs showed great character in edging two close matches to start the campaign and get Wayne Bennett’s second spell with the club off to a great start. They came unstuck last week against the Sharks who beat them 27-12 so they will be aiming to bounce back here.
The Panthers are coming off successive losses in the NRL – something we have rarely seen over recent seasons. They are not helped by the fact that star man Nathan Cleary is out due to concussion protocols and that significantly weakens them.
The Panthers just are not firing on all cylinders in any facet of the game right now and it is hard to see them just turning it on here especially without Cleary. The 11.5 spread for the Rabbitohs is significant. We favour the Rabbitohs on that basic but we just lean towards taking the Panthers to get the win straight up and add this to our accumulators.
