South Sydney Rabbitohs vs North Queensland Cowboys prediction

The South Sydney Rabbitohs have surprised many pundits so far this season with four wins from their five matches. The one blotch on their copybook was a mauling at the hands of the Sharks in Round Three. That appears an aberration after a convincing win against the Panthers was followed up last week with an injury-plagued victory over the Roosters.

The North Queensland Cowboys have also found themselves righting the ship in recent weeks. A home victory over the Raiders was followed by an away win at the Panthers’ temporary home ground in Parramatta.

The Cowboys have won the past two meetings between the sides with the Rabbitohs nabbing the previous five matches. Indeed, the all-time record over 40 matches shows the Rabbitohs with a 21-19 lead in the series.

This points to another close match-up, particularly with the Cowboys gaining back some confidence with their past two weeks. We think the Rabbitohs get home in this one despite their record in Perth being less than a 50% strike rate.
