South Africa Form: Under-par score costs Proteas
South Africa won the toss, chose to bat and disappointed in the first ODI, reaching just 239/9. They were indebted to Heinrich Klaasen, the only Proteas player to pass 50 as his brilliant 86 at least gave them a chance of defending a target. In the end though, it wasn’t enough despite the bowlers’ efforts with 12 wides conceded proving important.

Pakistan Form: Ali Agha drags tourists over the line
Having now won each of their last three ODIs, there is finally some cause for positivity among Pakistan fans. Chasing 240, opener Saim Ayub continued his fine form with an excellent 109 to underpin the run chase. However, it was Salman Ali Agha that got them home after a familiar Pakistan collapse put them in danger of throwing things away. Ali Agha’s unbeaten 82 navigated his side to their target with three balls to spare.

South Africa Betting Analysis
Heinrich Klaasen is such a dangerous batter for South Africa whether it be in 20-over or 50-over cricket because he has a natural ability to get on top of bowlers and dispatch them across any ground. Pakistan had little answer to him at one stage and when taking into account how well Klaasen played, it wouldn’t be a bad move to weigh up a small stake on him following up that innings with another sizeable knock at Newlands. Consider backing Klaasen to accrue 30+ runs.
Pakistan Betting Analysis
It would be remiss not to focus on Saim Ayub when considering his performances for Pakistan over the past couple of months. He is starting to make that opening spot his own and a century in the first ODI against a quality South African bowling attack further underlined his class. Bettors should try to capitalise on Ayub and explore backing him to hit another score of 50+ in this encounter.
South Africa vs Pakistan Expert Prediction
Another close contest could well be on the cards and South Africa certainly won’t be ready to give up after not showing their best in Paarl. A number of batters got starts in that game and didn’t go on to turn those into big scores and it would be a surprise if at least one of those players weren’t to cash in on this occasion. Pakistan never seem to make things easy for themselves and that alone makes backing South Africa to level the series an enticing move.
