St. Petersburg native Danielle Collins is no doubt guaranteed a great reception from the crowd in Miami as she takes to the court for the first time since winning the tournament last year in what was a dream run that saw her defeat Elena Rybakina. It was arguably the biggest triumph of her career and to win four consecutive sets on her way to the title demonstrated her ability on the Miami hard court.

Sorana Cirstea will be up against it when taking into account the pedigree of her opponent in this particular competition. But she is fresher due to having played in the first round whilst Collins received a bye. It may take time for Collins to regain her rhythm and Cirstea could try and capitalise on that.

However, as Collins settles into proceedings, she should be able to take control of the match and is well worth backing to ultimately come out on top against Cirstea, the first step towards defending her title.
