Song Kenan: Chinese star looking to make it back-to-back wins

Song Kenan (22-8) grabbed a valuable unanimous decision win over Ricky Glenn at UFC 305 in August and that came after three losses in his previous four fights. He will now look for back-to-back wins in the UFC for the first time since 2020 as he looks to stay relevant. He will have plenty of support in the crowd for this one that he will surely inspire the 34-year-old against Muslim Salikhov.

Muslim Salikhov: 40-year-old aiming to follow up on Ponzinibbio victory

Muslim Salikohv (20-5) is coming into this bout in a similar situation to Song Kenan. He won a split decision over Santiago Ponzinibbio in July and that came after he lost three of his last four fights. Two of those losses where knockouts at the hands of Li Jingliang and Randy Brown and there were signs of his punch resistance and father time catching up on the 40-year-old. He responded well with the win over Ponzinibbio but this will be a tough test for him.

Song Kenan vs Muslim Salikhov Prediction

Both Song Kenan and Muslim Salikhov come into this fight knowing they really need a win to maintain their momentum and give them better options when it comes to their next fights.

The veterans are coming off wins in their previous fights and another here would be really welcome for either. A defeat for either and it will not help their cause in future fights.

It is Salikhov that is favoured by the bookmakers but we struggle to like that straight up with the odds provided. Song Kenan is the younger fighter and we expect him have the edge in workrate, but it will likely come down to who can gain control for long enough. Salikhov could very well dominate the wrestling as so many Dagestani fighters do and we expect him to grind one out on the scorecards.

Prediction: Muslim Salikhov to win by decision
