Sofia Kenin vs Lulu Sun prediction

Sofia Kenin made a stunning run to the final of the Charleston Open last time out with some of her best tennis in recent times. She did not drop a set against Belinda Bencic, Daria Kasatkina, Anna Kalinskaya and Amanda Anisimova but couldn’t get over the line against Jessica Pegula in the final. Nevertheless, there were so many positives that the 2020 Australian Open champion can take from the tournament ahead of the rest of the clay court season and beyond.

Lulu Sun will be her opponent after the New Zealander fought from a set down to beat Varvara Gracheva. She performed well at the most important moments, saving six break points overall. 

These two did face off earlier in the year at the Hobart International, with Kenin coming from a set down to triumph 4-6 6-3 6-3 in the first-round.

Kenin should take some newly-found confidence from her first clay-court final in five years. There’s a maturity in her game now, especially on this surface in the way in which she can absorb pace and construct points. We’re backing her to make it through in straight sets.
