After a six-match winless run of form which began with a Steel City Derby loss at home to Sheffield United before the March international break amidst further off-field issues, Sheffield Wednesday came from behind to defeat Middlesbrough by two goals to one at Hillsborough on Easter Monday to dent ‘Boro’s playoff chances this season.

Portsmouth have more or less now achieved survival this season following their automatic promotion back to the Championship last season. John Mousinho’s Pompey completed back-to-back victories over the Easter weekend with a 5-3 win at Carrow Road against Norwich City before defeating Watford by a goal to nil at Fratton Park.

Neither of these sides have too much to play for and, for both Danny Rohl and Mousinho, the handbrake may come off ahead of a potentially entertaining clash in South Yorkshire.
