SEVILLA PREVIEW: FINDING SOLIDITY

In each of the last two seasons, Sevilla have required three permanent managers to eventually push themselves away from the bottom three and the relegation places. Former Las Palmas boss Garcia Pimienta appears to be much more stable and impressive this time around, though.

The Andalusians begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting firmly in the middle-of-the-table. They come into this one on the back of a 3-0 hammering of Las Rozas in the cup in midweek to mean they have suffered just one defeat in their last six matches across all competitions.

REAL SOCIEDAD PREVIEW: TRYING TO FIND THE REAL LA REAL

With one of the most intense pressing styles in all of European football, Real Sociedad have often started brightly before collapsing in the second-half of the campaign but La Real have instead started poorly in the opening 14 matches across all competitions this season.

Imanol Aguacil’s visitors come into this one on the back of a 2-0 defeat at home to Osasuna at the Anoeta last weekend. That means they have managed four victories, five draws and five defeats in their 14 games so far.

SEVILLA TEAM NEWS: SEVERAL ABSENTEES

Sevilla are dealing with several absentees for this weekend’s game against Real Sociedad with the likes of Loic Bade, Tanguy Nianzou and Suso still unavailable.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Alvaro Fernandez; Jose Angel Carmona, Kike Salas, Marcao, Adria Pedrosa; Gudelj, Lokonga; Lukebakio, Juanlu, Idumbo; Isaac Romero

UNAVAILABLE: Nyland (Injured), Bade (Injured), Nianzou (Injured), Suso (Injured), Ejuke (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Saul (Injured)

REAL SOCIEDAD TEAM NEWS: STILL NO TRAORE

Former Rennes defender Ham Traore remains a key injury issue for Real Sociedad, whilst both midfielders Pablo Marin and Arsen Zakharyan are also doubtful for this one.

PREDICTED XI (4-1-4-1): Alex Remiro; Jon Aramburu, Igor Zubeldia, Ageurd, Sergio Gomez; Martin Zubimendi; Mikel Oyarzabal, Brais Mendez, Sucic, Ander Barrenetxea; Oskarsson

UNAVAILABLE: Traore (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Pablo Marin (Injured), Zakharyan (Injured)

SEVILLA VS REAL SOCIEDAD PREDICTION

There is a chance this is quite an entertaining game for the neutral between two sides that may lack a genuine bit of quality in attack but they do lack control at the back, too. Sevilla are also dealing with several injury issues that are harming them at the moment, whilst Real Sociedad will be pleased with the impressive form of new signing Orri Oskarsson so both teams scoring would appear a good bet for this one at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
