Sevilla Preview: Struggling Sevilla

In each of the last three seasons, Sevilla have required three permanent managers to eventually push themselves away from the bottom three and the relegation places but Garcia Pimienta, who was appointed after spending the last couple of seasons at Las Palmas, is hoping to buck that trend this time around.

The Andalusians earned a much-needed victory in their most recent outing against Rayo Vallecano last weekend thanks to a 28th minute winner from Djibril Sow and then Unai Lopez being sent off for Rayo just before half-time. They remain firmly in the bottom-half of La Liga after 14 matches.

Osasuna Preview: Overachieving Osasuna

Osasuna lost the manager that took them to seventh and the UEFA Europa Conference League as well as the final of the Copa del Rey this summer when Jago Arrasate departed to take charge of Real Mallorca. He has since been replaced by former Almeria boss Vicente Moreno and, despite average performances, they have majorly overperformed at the start of this season.

The Pamplona-based club begin this weekend sitting tucked inside the top six and the UEFA Europa League spots. The visitors come into this one on the back of a 2-2 draw at home to Villarreal in which they did lead 2-0 before conceding a 93rd minute equaliser. Their 14 games so far this season have consisted of 41 goals.

Sevilla Team News: Still no Nyland

Norway international goalkeeper Orjan Nyland, formerly of Norwich City, had established himself as Sevilla’s first-choice goalkeeper but is now out injured.

Exciting youngster Chidera Ejuke is also missing for the hosts due to a hamstring injury, whilst key centre-back Tanguy Nianzou is nursing a thigh injury.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Alvaro Fernandez; Jose Angel Carmona, Bade, Kike Salas, Adria Pedrosa; Gudelj, Lokonga; Lukebakio, Sow, Gatito Fernandez; Isaac Romero

Unavailable: Nyland (Injured), Nianzou (Injured), Ejuke (Injured)

Osasuna Team News: Lucas Torro suspension

There is only one availability concern for Osasuna this weekend as key midfielder Lucas Torro is suspended due to picking up too many yellow cards so far this season.

Key players such as Jon Moncayola and Ruben Garcia have been sidelined with injuries throughout this campaign but both are now fully fit and available.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Sergio Herrera; Jesus Areso, Alejandro Catena, Boyomo, Juan Cruz; Jon Moncayola, Pablo Ibanez, Aimar Oroz; Ruben Garcia, Budimir, Bryan Zaragoza

Unavailable: Lucas Torro (Suspended)

Sevilla vs Osasuna Prediction

This one is a very unpredictable fixture between two sides that have been unpredictable, for very different reasons, throughout this campaign. Just as performances began to improve for Garcia Pimienta, their form dipped again and then just when performances declined, they got a win last week. Osasuna are fun to watch with results perhaps being a fair bit better than performances but this is expected to be an entertaining encounter in which both teams scoring seems a good shout.
