Sevilla Preview: Pushing to the top-half

Despite losing with a last gasp winner scored by Antoine Griezmann away at Atletico Madrid last weekend in a game in which they had led 4-3 mid-way through the second-half, there is real encouragement for a Sevilla side that have been flailing in the last few seasons in La Liga.

They have required three permanent managers in the last two campaigns to eventually push themselves away from the bottom three but former Las Palmas boss Garcia Pimienta appears to be getting more of a cohesive tune out of what is a limited side that has been put together.

Celta Vigo Preview: Silky Celta

Ever since the sacking of Rafa Benitez and subsequent appointment of former B team coach Claudio Giraldez, Celta Vigo have turned their fortunes around from being strugglers to a team that are comfortably in the middle-of-the-table with an entertaining style of football.

In their 16 matches so far this season, there has been a combined total of 52 goals with only the top five having scored more than them and only the two sides conceding more. They most recently defeated Real Mallorca by two goals to nil at Balaidos in Galicia last weekend.

Sevilla Team News: No Nianzou or Lokonga

Sevilla have quite a limited squad so any extra injuries are an issue with Arsenal loanee Albert Sambi Lokonga now unavailable after going off against Atleti last week. Both Tanguy Nianzou and Chidera Ejuke are also sidelined for the Andalusians.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Alvaro Fernandez; Jose Angel Carmona, Bade, Kike Salas, Adria Pedrosa; Sow, Gudelj, Lokonga; Lukebakio, Isaac Romero, Gatito Fernandez

Unavailable: Nianzou (Injured), Lokonga (Injured), Ejuke (Injured)

Celta Vigo Team News: Defensive injuries

Celta play an entertaining brand with a thrilling 3-4-3 that can adapt based on circumstance but tends to be constantly front foot. They are dealing with a couple of defensive injury issues as both Jailson and Javi Manquillo are sidelined for the visitors.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Vicente Guaita; Javi Rodriguez, Starfelt, Marcos Alonso; Oscar Mingueza, Fran Beltran, Ilaix Moriba, Hugo Alvarez; Iago Aspas, Borja Iglesias, Bamba

Unavailable: Jailson (Injured), Javi Manquillo (Injured)

Sevilla vs Celta Vigo Prediction

Sevilla have developed something of a counter-attacking style of football that is perhaps not the usual style of Garcia Pimienta. However, they have been able to get the possession-based fundamentals early on in the campaign. They now face a Celta side that will look to get on the front foot, which could hurt the hosts for this one so it should be quite an entertaining encounter at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan with over 2.5 goals looking a potentially good bet for this one.

Sevilla vs Celta Vigo Tip: Over 2.5 goals
