Sebastian Baez vs Mariano Navone Prediction

Sebastian Baez came into this tournament in Rio as the fifth seed and after a disappointing couple of weeks in South America, he will be hoping to kick-start his clay-court season. He overcame compatriot Roman Burruchaga in the first round and now he faces another in Mariano Navone.

The pair have met once before and it was actually in the final in this every tournament last year. Baez won that match 6-2 6-1 so it will be interesting to see if Navone can do better this time around.

He has had a reasonable start to 2025 and he beat Roberto Carballes Baena in the first round. He looked good last week and knocked out Francisco Comesana and Holger Rune in Buenos Aires before losing to eventual winner Joao Fonseca.

He is the one with the form and momentum behind him and he will be fired up to avenge the loss in the final last year. We just lean towards Navone here with a number of factors in his favour and we also think this match could go the distance.

Sebastian Baez vs Mariano Navone Tip: Mariano Navone to win
