Sebastian Baez vs Damir Dzumhur prediction

Sebastian Baez will be disappointed with his Monte-Carlo Masters campaign, taking the first set against Tomas Machac but ultimately losing in three sets and heading out in the first-round. The Argentinian has performed well on clay so far this season, with a victory at the Rio Open in February, a final appearance at the Chile Open in early March and a further final in Bucharest at the start of this month.

Damir Dzumhur enters the main draw as a lucky loser, having lost to Cameron Norrie in the final qualifying stage for the event. This is his first match since his encouraging run at the Bucharest Open, where he went through the qualifiers and made the semi-finals, but lost to eventual winner Fabio Cobolli in straight sets.

These two played their first match against each other earlier on this season, with Baez beating Dzumhur 6-4 6-4 in the quarter-finals of the Chile Open. The Argentine is a threat to the rest of the draw on clay and we think he’ll book a place in the second-round comfortably.
